About the Director
I was born and raised in a poor, urban area of Sohag in Southern Egypt. My parents wanted me to be a doctor so that I would be able to help parents whose children were dying from a lack of access to healthcare and medicine. That ethos has stayed with me throughout my personal and profession life.
I believe that every human is entitled to good healthcare and the medicine they need, irrespective of their birthplace or their ability to pay.
